Janai Tillman '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Janai Tillman and ever since I could remember I have wanted to play volleyball. My passion for volleyball is something that runs deep within me. Every single time I step foot on the court I want to be seen as the best. I am open to play any position as long as I can continue to help and grow my character as a player. When I first started playing volleyball all I knew was middle but as I got older and the competition increased I wanted to learn how to play new positions. I started working with a private coach, and changed my position to an outside hitter. I wanted to become an all around player. I am a hard worker at heart. I am passionate about all the sports I play including track and basketball and have succeeded in those as well. I have multiple varsity letters, medals, and awards but my greatest accomplishment is the feeling I get on the court. I am always looking for a new challenge and never want to be stagnate in my developing. I am a leader and I want to help my fellow teammates. I like to encourage and make sports fun. I not only love to play sports I enjoy other school activities such as BSU(Black Student Union) and Student Council. I want to be vocal in the black community and help make a pathway to generations after me.
