Personal Statement
Through out my high school experience so far, I have grown and changed as a person and an athlete. I started off new to the sport of volleyball, but very familiar to a sport I have been playing for a while, basketball. I tried volleyball freshman year and instantly fell in love with the sport. I decided to quit basketball this year and carry out volleyball all year round. I started off on the freshman team, but my this year, sophomore year, I started on varsity. I learned that taking criticism and being able to grow from my mistakes are very important. I try to improve each time I notice, or am told I did something wrong, or didn't do it to my full potential.
Growing up in a family of athletes my morals always kept me on the right path. I try to keep my body and health in good shape so that I am able to perform my best. I learned from my grandfather that you can achieve great success even when you start from nothing. It was intimidating going into a sport I never played before and being surrounded by girls who have. I set a goal and I worked hard to be where I am at and will continue to work hard so I can keep improving. I have always been a good leader but most importantly a good team player. I think that my work ethics and my athletic capabilities can help impact the program that I become apart of.
