I aspire to make a difference while excelling in both academics and athletics. My athletic ability and hardworking determination contribute to my positive attitude and love for the game.
I am a dedicated member of the Central Jersey Volleyball Academy (CJVA) 16 Black National Team. At CJVA our moto is “Every day We Get Stronger”, and this theme is what motivates us to be the best we can possibly be.
After winning a bid and competing in last year’s 2014 USA Volleyball National Championships in Minneapolis, Minnesota; we are poised for yet another strong finish this year.
I continued to gain valuable experience after nationals last year while earning the starting middle position on the GEVA 2014 USAV Junior Olympic High Performance Youth team. We competed in Tulsa, Oklahoma; finishing in the Silver Bracket. The coaches that traveled with us all commented on how outgoing and coachable I am.
In addition, our High School volleyball season was also exciting as we made it to the State Group 4 semi-finals for the first time in school history.
While working hard on the volleyball court, I continued to excel in school earning a 3.8 GPA. I also represented my high school in the statewide “Poetry Out Loud” competition after winning my school’s public speaking contest.
I love volleyball and my CJVA family. So far this year, we’ve finished in the Gold bracket in both the 2015 MLK Kick-off classic and the 2015 Capitol Hill classic.
I look forward to finishing this season strong and eventually continuing my volleyball journey with an exceptional contribution at the collegiate level.
