Alexa Sowers '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alexa Sowers and I will be a senior at Carlsbad High School in New Mexico. I play varsity volleyball, tennis, and track currently and played varsity soccer my 8th grade year.  I have been on the varsity volleyball team since I was a 9th grader and the varsity tennis team since I was an 8th grader.  My biggest goal in life at this time is to work towards finding a college that will allow me to pursue my academics while playing the sports that I love.  I believe I am a credible candidate because I set high standards for myself which include maintaining the highest possible grades, getting better each day in sports, and being a role model for my younger sister and others.  My recent accomplishments of dual sports and qualifying for state in Tennis doubles and in Track 100 M hurdles shows my dedication. I believe that my experience and success in these chosen sports make me a great candidate to play at the college level.   I want to attend a college that is willing to accept my hard work in the classroom and on the courts. I categorize myself as a leader, self disciplined, intense, competitive, selfless, and willing to do what it takes to succeed.  In all, I am so excited and honored to be a part of this journey in becoming a scholar and athlete in college.  I would love to attend a college that has the same high standards as I do for myself,  and will help me achieve this important phase of my life.
