My passion for volleyball and love for teambuilding developed as I grew. I watched my older sister and role model who excelled in the sport throughout my childhood. I was fascinated by the movement, persistence, and fervor herself and teammates displayed on the court and knew at the mere age of seven that I was destined to play. Thereon after, I devoted time to practice and play. I joined Varsity as a freshman, won All-League two years in a row, and received All-Section Honorable Mention. Throughout my academic volleyball career, our team advanced to the third round of sectionals and won leagues -- the first time in school history, and drastically transformed the program by instituting camps, workout regimes with local instructors and building solidarity among players. Aside from my academic career, I play for the Oxygen Club team. My coaches at Oxygen challenge me and inspired me to believe in my capabilities. I played 18U at 16 years old. My time with 18U taught me that being the best does not get you far but being a team does.
My team-oriented mentality also extends throughout my social and academic life. I am involved in tutoring, student mentoring, camps for young girls who want to play volleyball, as well as volunteering at my local fire department, which requires that I work alongside with my peers to ensure the improvement of their lives.
