Making the decision to start playing volleyball in the seventh grade has been a life changing experience for me. Through this sport I have been able to meet so many amazing people who have made me into the player and the person that I am today. Volleyball has allowed me to grow into a leader on and off the court. Playing volleyball has increased my confidence on the court and in the classroom, which is extremely beneficial for me because my academics are a very important aspect of my life. I strive to work and play as hard as I possibly can at all times. Once I step onto the court I feel a spark ignite inside of me that drives me to want to play at the highest level possible. This fire that I feel, not only fuels my motivation to play my best, but I also use this energy towards encouraging and supporting my teammates. My goal when playing is not only have myself succeed, but for my team to work together and play as one. Volleyball has taught me important lessons, that will further help me throughout my life. Through this sport I have learned that is it okay to fail, as long as you get back up and don’t let defeat keep you from achieving your goal. This has made me into a persistent and determined individual on and off the court. I hope to have the opportunity to further my volleyball career at the college level.
