Personal Statement
I found volleyball in sixth grade, and at that time I was a multisport athlete playing soccer as well. I decided to pursue volleyball and made varsity as a freshman; I was introduced to club the following year. I made a national team my first year of club and my love for the sport excelled as fast as my skill.
Volleyball has helped me become a more confident person and a better leader on and off the court. I know that there’s no way I can live my life without it. I was captain my past club and school season because of the leadership I provide and effort I give 100% of the time. I make sure my coaches know that I’m dedicated to this sport by always attempting to improve-- whether that's asking how to better myself or by requesting time outside of practice to work with them on my skills. I ran a 6’2 my past two seasons in club and school which gave me experience as an Outside Hitter, Setter, and even some as an Opposite. In addition, I got a chance to play some defense at Middle Back, which just adds to my diversity as a player. I grew as an outside hitter and developed my skills as a setter-- the two positions I would wish to pursue-- in only a few months, and can’t wait to see what skills I would be able to learn at the next level.
I’m still growing as a player and person, and would love to keep learning and playing volleyball past my high school career. I’m currently very flexible with where I would like to play because I’m still figuring out where my academic needs lie, but I would love to play at a more competitive level. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or interest, and I would be happy to answer! Thank you for your time.
