Abby Avila '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Abby Avila and I am a setter in the class of 2022.  When I was young, I played many sports, but when I started CYO volleyball in 3rd grade I knew that I had found my passion. I started club volleyball at 10's and have been playing basically year-round since then.  I have played on national teams since 12's and I have had the opportunity to play against the top players in the country. Volleyball has given me many opportunities and I beyond thankful for this sport!

My collegiate goals and aspirations are to attend a college that is the best fit academically and athletically for me.  I want a school that challenges me both in the classroom and on the court.  I want to pursue a degree that will help me one day be a physical therapist and help as many people as I can.  I am a good candidate for any team because I am a leader and play by example.  I have been team captain on my JO teams and this past year on my high school team.  I am a team player and I make it a point of putting my teammates before me.  I feel as a setter, that is my job.  I try and better every ball I get to place my hitters in the best position possible to get a kill.    I carry on honors load with AP classes.  I recently got inducted into National Honor Society.
