Personal Statement

Background: I discovered volleyball in 5th grade when I attended a Spring volleyball clinic which was offered at school for any interested students. I’m not one to shy away from the chance to try something new, so I participated in the clinic and fell in love with the sport as soon as I stepped on the court. As a multi-sport athlete, I've played many sports over the years including lacrosse, field hockey, basketball, soccer, track and even a little golf. Though I enjoy and excel at these sports, I plan to play volleyball and lacrosse during my high school career.

In the classroom and on the court, I consider myself to be a very focused student-athlete. Throughout my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years, I‘ve achieved and maintained Academic First Honors, and I was inducted into the 'Bishop Shanahan National Honor Society Monsignor Schuyler Chapter' on 10/4/2023. I am taking all AP and Honors level courses and participate in various clubs offered at school, such as Community Service Corps, Ambassadors Club, Spanish Club and DECA. I'm also a volunteer at the local SPCA. As a student and an athlete, I enjoy learning and being coached. I am a quick learner and very coachable. I enjoy the challenge of listening to what the coach explains, then applying it during practices and matches. I’ve learned that leading by example is the best way to motivate those around me. On the court, as a Libero/DS, I am a leader by the way I perform and communicate with my teammates. I feel that my confidence, athleticism, leadership and determination on the court helps to elevate the play of the whole team.

As I continue my high school career, I look forward to growing as a student-athlete and preparing myself to be successful at the collegiate level.

2023 JUNIOR SEASON (Starting Varsity Libero)

Surpassing 1,000 total career digs, I enjoyed a successful 2023 Junior campaign as the starting Varsity Libero for the third straight season. Prior to my 2023 Junior season, I once again set a high bar for myself and was focused on becoming an even stronger player and team leader. I'm looking forward to my upcoming club season with another great group of teammates on the Synergy VBC 17 National 1s Uranium team. Following my 2023 Junior season, I was honored to receive the following awards and recognition:

  • 2023 1st Team All Ches-Mont Conference Selection (2x)
  • 2023 1st Team PIAA All-District 1 AAAA Selection (2x)
  • 2023 Bishop Shanahan Team MVP (2x)
  • 2023 Synergy 16 Plutonium Club Season Coaches' Award
  • 10/4/2023 - Inducted into the 'Bishop Shanahan National Honor Society Monsignor Schuyler Chapter'

2022 SOPHOMORE SEASON (Starting Varsity Libero)

Following a very successful 2021 freshman season, I was excited to pick up where I had left off as the starting Varsity Libero. Prior to my 2022 sophomore season, I had set a number of personal goals for myself and was focused on becoming a stronger player, both physically and mentally. I feel that I definitely grew as a player this year, and I look forward to carrying it into my upcoming club season. Following my 2022 sophomore season, I was honored to receive the following awards and recognition:

  • 2022 Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association All-State Team in Class 4A
  • 2022 1st Team All Ches-Mont Conference Selection
  • 2022 1st Team PIAA All-District 1 AAAA Selection
  • 2022 1st Team Daily Local News All-Area Team
  • 2022 Bishop Shanahan Team MVP

2021 FRESHMAN SEASON (Starting Varsity Libero)

As a 2025 grad year student-athlete, I was blessed to play with an amazing group of upperclassmen during my first varsity season as a Freshman.

As Libero for my 2021 Freshman season, I had the opportunity to compete against some of the top teams and players in Pennsylvania. We went undefeated in our conference and were crowned Ches-Mont League Champions. We then advanced to the District 1 Playoffs, where we topped CB South, Lower Merion, Unionville and defeated the #1 seed, Council Rock North, to win the District 1 Title. Following District 1 Playoffs, we moved on to the PA State Playoffs, where we topped Wilson and Garnet Valley to advance to the state semi-finals, but lost (3-1) to a strong Parkland squad.

Based on my overall Freshman season performance, I was proud to be selected to the 2nd Team 2021 All Ches-Mont League Team; the 2nd Team 2021 All-District 1 PIAA AAAA Team; the 2nd Team 2021 DLN All-Area Volleyball Team; and received the annual 2021 Bishop Shanahan Coaches Award.

Following a successful varsity season, I look forward to the upcoming club volleyball season and continuing to grow as a player to achieve the goals I have set for myself in 2022.
