Haven Trautman '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Haven B. Trautman. I am 5'11 and still growing. I am 148lbs. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes Febuary 2011 (freshman year). I have benn playing volleyball for six year. My elementry school had an amazing program. I set my bar extremely high and always have goals to reach. I am a captain. My team has a lot of respect for me because of my disease and that I do not let it get the best of me. I am always trying to give volleyball my all and then some. I gave up playing basketball this season so I could focus more of my time conditioning for volleyball. It is my dream to play volleyball in college. In my locker, I have pictures of Blair Brown and Megan Hodge. They are my idols. I met Blair Brown at a Penn State basketball game last November when they received their Big Ten attire and trophy. I was speechless. I would love to attend Penn State at University Park because I lived in State College for 9 years and love the area. My dad still lives in the State College area. I am extremely intrested about attending law school or majoring in kinesiology. After college, I would like to become an associate at my uncle's law firm in Pittsburgh. If I major in kinesiology, I would like to work in a lab or find a job in sports medicine.
