Hello, my name is Yazmyn Stewart. I am currently attending Harriton High School in Rosemont, PA. I will be graduating in the year 2020. I currently live with my parents Kim & Guy Stewart and my little brother Michael. I have been brought up in a very close family who values God and treating others with respect and the most important things in my life are my relationship with God and my family. I started playing volleyball at the age of 8. I didn’t know right then that volleyball would be my first love as I started playing basketball and loved the competitiveness on the basketball court and the challenges it provided. Beginning my freshman year in high school my love for volleyball grew tremendously and I decided to focus all my energy on volleyball and become the best volleyball player that I can be. My dream is to someday earn a college degree and play at the highest level of volleyball. In order to accomplish this goal, I realize it will take a lot of focus, hard work, and dedication. I work tremendously hard to excel in the class room and challenge myself by taking honors courses so that I am prepared academically beyond high school. I will be looking for a school that has a strong academic program that is vested in my academic success and preparing me for life after volleyball. I am a player that is very coachable and wants to continually learn to become a better person and volleyball player. I enjoy competition and want to be challenged at the highest level so I can push myself to be the best version of me possible. This will help provide me the necessary experience to grow as a player and to help my team win and improve. Through my high school years, hopefully, my experiences both on and off the court will help me make a smooth transition to the college game and adapt to college life.
I am a Six Rotation Outside Hitter with the ability to also play setter and/or defensive specialist. I am looking for a program that can showcase all of my abilities and skills. I started at a young age as a setter but was always one of the most reliable defensive players on my teams. I then made a transition to the Outside Hitter position as I grew. I am very confident in all my skills and feel I can impact your program immediately. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to share my personal statement. Hopefully you have me on your radar so someday my dream comes true.
