Something that makes me a good candidate is the amount of dedication I have towards something I love, I have been a competive gymnast for 15 years. I started playing volleyball when I was in grade 9 I had very little volleyball experience but the coach saw my commitment and could see that I was going to work hard. I started playing as a middle and was learning very fast, I made the team again in grade 10 and same thing I kept getting better and more comfortable playing middle. The summer between grade 10 and 11 I decided I was no longer going to continue with gymnastics and I was going to play volleyball instead. I did many camps over the summer and the one camp I was at the one coach really saw it in me that I could be a setter. Once she told me that I started working with her, had a few privates and put in alot of hours outside of the camp to learn how to play a new position. when school started I made the senior team as a setter, during school season I went to morning practices for fun and to get more time with the ball, I also worked at lunch once or twice a week so that I could continue to get better and better. At the beginning of my grade 11 season I did not see very much court time being that i was totally new to the position but by halfway through I was on the starting line and all of the work I had put in payed off. I was also invited without tryouts to play setter on the u17 Summit team.
