Hi Coaches! My name is Ava Clower, Class of 2027. I am honored to play club volleyball in the North Texas Region and at Prestonwood Christian Academy! In the last four years playing club volleyball, I have grown my skills and volleyball knowledge tremendously and I can't wait to see how much more I will grow in high school and college. While volleyball is a huge passion of mine, my top priorities are my faith, my family, and my academics. I work hard in the classroom and set high standards for myself off the court as well as on the court. I hope to achieve success in high school in order to attend a top university that is competitive in both volleyball and academics. My long-term goal is to graduate at the top of my class in undergrad, attend a top law school, and eventually attain my law degree so that I can make a difference in the world. I was blessed to have a well-rounded childhood and experienced a variety of different extracurriculars such as ballet for 8 years, piano for 7 years, golf, basketball, track and field, trap and skeet shooting, and of course volleyball. I was quickly drawn to the technical nature of volleyball and my passion for the sport has grown ever since. Unlike most people my age, I am focused on doing what it takes each day to work toward my long-term goals - discipline and hard work are very important to me. My discipline starts at home - I make my bed every morning, keep my room tidy daily, wash and fold my own laundry, help my parents wash the dishes, feed my two dogs, watch over my younger siblings, and even try to cook a meal for my family once per week when time allows. I also love to have fun with my family and set aside time to relax and enjoy my downtime. I enjoy serving my community through our local National Charity League chapter as well as helping friends and neighbors in need. I average about 20 to 25 service hours per year in various philanthropies such as the local food bank, shelter, community garden, and Special Olympics. I believe it is important to balance my focused mindset by encouraging my fellow teammates, friends, and classmates. I strongly believe in maintaining a positive mindset that can have a positive impact on everyone around me.
