Personal Statement
I have the character, competitive spirit, work ethic, and mindset to compete for a spot on your volleyball team. I have always been a leader, have strong confidence, and, honestly, due to my competitive nature, I despise losing! My mentality on the court is always to dare to be great! I will always give you my best and push myself to the limit in practice, during games, and in the classroom. One of my best attributes is that I believe I am extremely coachable and am always looking to learn. Most important for me, as in the sport of volleyball, is teamwork.
One of my biggest and most fulfilling changes that I have made is transitioning from OH to Libero starting my Freshman year in high school I am right under 5'7", and played the OH hitter position during club season from 2013-2016. I had realized that I was not growing anymore, and although I was successful playing OH at GJNCs in Minneapolis in 2016, I new my days playing that position were limited! I switched to the libero position, and in the beginning, I sure did miss the thrills of getting a monster kill. As I continued to improve my passing, I was awarded All District and All City recognition during my Freshman year, and I love the position. Now, instead of playing OH, I take pride in having the relentless mindset "nothing will hit the floor"! During my Sophomore high school season, I was awarded "Libero of the Year" in El Paso.
