Personal Statement
I believe in giving 100% in both academics and athletics. I have plans to attend college and major in pre-physical therapy or biology in preparation for physical therapy school. I take the highest level of classes offered (AP and IB) at my school and am an IB Diploma Candidate. I am looking for a college that challenges me both academically and athletically.
I have found myself in many different roles on my teams throughout the years. Although I love being on the court, it is being on the sidelines that has taught me the most. My club season 14s year I found myself on the bench for the first time. I realized that even though I couldn’t contribute to my team on the court, there were still many opportunities to contribute, such as working hard in practice, staying engaged throughout the game, encouraging my teammates, and taking every opportunity I was given to make plays for my team. By the end of the season, I found myself with a starting spot and my teammates voted me as the Breakout Player. Although I tore my ACL and meniscus before nationals that season, the lessons that I learned that season helped prepare me for my recovery. Throughout my recovery, I continued to go to every practice and contributed in any way possible from serving to shagging balls to encouraging my teammates. My first qualifier back our team won a gold ball and at the end of the season, my teammates voted me the Skyline Player. I believe that I would be a great addition to any team as I have a team-first mentality and am willing and able to fulfill any role on the team.
