Personal Statement
My name is Lauren Pick and I am a junior at Vista Ridge High School. I am 5'9" and can play any position on the volleyball court. We compete in District 25-4A, one of the most competitive districts in Texas. On my high school varsity team I am a setter and a RS hitter. This past fall I set all around in a 5-1 offense. Sophomore year I was the starting right side hitter and set when back row, and my freshman year I played both setter and DS. On my Texas Eclipse club team my main position is setter and sometimes I hit right side. I also serve as a team captain. In addition to Academic All District I have was named 2nd team All District and to the Hill Country New Dazling Dozen Team.
I have an all "A" average and earned Academic All District both freshman and sophomore years in both volleyball and softball. I am a member of National Honor Society, PALS and a leader in FCA. Academics are most important to me, and I plan to attend a college/university that will offer many opportunities and has a strong academic reputation. I am interested in engineering or accounting, and want to attend a university that has strong programs in these areas.
Volleyball is my most favorite sport and I also play softball. As a freshman and sophomore I was on our varsity team at Vista Ridge High School where I played 1st base and center field. In addition to Academic All District I was also awarded 2nd Team All District as a freshman. I also played golf this past year at Vista Ridge where I was a member of the girls varsity golf team. In middle school I earned Athlete of the Year, was named Volleyball MVP for both 7th and 8th grade, Tennis MVP 7th grade, Basketball MVP 8th grade, participated in Track and Field and was also on the Golf team. I am a very focused and dedicated student athlete.
