Ashley Mitchell '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ashley Mitchell and I am a 6' outside hitter, middle blocker, and right side from San Antonio, Texas. I currently have a 9'10” approach touch. My GPA is a 3.8 and I am scheduled to take the SAT in fall of 2021. I play club for Alamo Elite and varsity for Reagan High School.  I am interested in learning more about your university and program.  I grew up in a competitive sports family.  My Dad played football at Texas A&M and my uncle played football at Northwestern LA.  After my first YMCA volleyball game as a 7yr old little girl, I fell in love with the game and dreamed about playing at the collegiate level. I am a self-motivator that knows the only way to succeed in volleyball and life in general is to stay committed to the process and out work my competitors. I have persevered through many obstacles to get to where I am today. When others doubted me I used it as fuel to drive me to get better and prove them wrong just like other great athletes and successful individuals used their doubters. I have always been passionate not just for playing volleyball, but for the off-season work it takes to get better and reach your full potential. Passion is something you can’t create. You either have it or you don’t. I always strive to be that teammate you can count on and trust when the game is on the line. I am looking forward to learning more about your school and program!
