Personal Statement
I grew up watching my cousins, aunt, and uncles play different collegiate sports. This sparked a desire in me to do the same. I believe I would be an asset to any team not just because of my skills, but because I am passionate about competing. I am coachable, a fast learner, and a good communicator. I always give my best effort and stay late or practice on my own time to improve my skills or meet the needs of the team. I understand there is more to being an athlete than performing well on the court. I love learning and value education. This is part of who I am, who I've always been. Raised by a 3rd generation teacher-coach, I grew up in an environment that values education, respect, hard work, dependability, endurance, persistence, positivity, honesty, and the ability to "get up and dust yourself off". Living by these attributes has developed my character and made me the person I am today.
