Personal Statement
My name is Paige Richards. I am 16 years old and am currently a junior at Arlington High School. I have been a varsity player since my sophomore year and was apart of the postseason roster my freshman year. I have received 2 letters, a team spirit award and best defensive player freshman year and junior year. I recently was given honorable mention for libero/DS types for WESCO. I was the starting libero this last season and led my team to an undefeated league season. We ended up placing 6th at state also. I also love to play beach volleyball. This summer, my partner and I placed first in a local tournament based out of Mukilteo. As far as school goes, I am a class officer this year and was just elected to be our high school's ASB treasurer for the remainder of the year and into my senior year. I am apart of National Honor Society and spend most of my time outside of sports and school volunteering. I was also nominated for homecoming court by my teachers and peers this year. I maintain a 4.0 GPA and work hard to excel in both school and sports. I began playing volleyball in 7th grade. Prior to that, I was a competitive dancer for 8 years, winning a national title and placing high in many competitions throughout my years. At home, I am blessed with two of the most amazing parents anyone could ask for and an equally supportive extended family. I surround myself with friends that work just as hard as I do and who push me to continue working. My support system is incredible and has allowed me to get where I am today. Throughout my life, I have been trained to work hard and to always push myself to be the best player, competitor, student, and person I can be. I want to play college level volleyball because I know that my determination and skills would be a great addition to any team. Meeting new people, traveling the country, and being apart of family of likeminded people would be an amazing opportunity and I know I would be a great fit to any team.
