I would describe myself as a very hard working and competitive person. Staying focused on completing the task at hand and keeping organized helps me reach my goals of good grades in school, playing sports and spending time with my friends and family. Finding a balance in my busy schedule can be difficult sometimes, but the support of my family, friends, teachers and coaches helps me stay on track and achieve my goals.
I have been playing volleyball since the 2nd grade and have loved it every step of the way. My current team has traveled to the USAV GJNC the past three years in a row, each time improving in our finish place. I have been selected for the High Performance Select Regional Team for the Puget Sound the past four consecutive years, and have traveled with the team the past two years to Vancouver, BC for the National Canadian Challenge Cup at the Richmond Olympic Oval in 2016, and to Fort Lauderdale, FL for the High Performance National Championship in 2016 and 2017. I have also participated in HP Beach Camps in summers past, as well as other beach tournaments to keep my skills up and have fun in the sand. At school I have received awards for scholastic achievements, leadership, and student of the month. Outside of club volleyball, I played varsity volleyball for my high school team in the fall of 2017, with our team winning the Wesco District Title and moving on to the state tournament, placing 9th in the state. I currently play varsity basketball for my high school team, and our team just won the Wesco District Title, and will be moving on to Regionals and, hopefully, the State Tournament in the coming weeks. Playing basketball helps me with cross-training and pushing my athletics abilities, as well as giving me another opportunity to learn from different coaches, create new friendships, and spend time with my friends.
I am looking forward to the experience of playing college sports. The high level of college competition and personal challenge excite me as a player. My ideal school would have many options for majors in the health sciences to stretch my academic ability. It would be an amazing opportunity to play and expand my skills in a sport I love, and receive a high quality education at the same time. I am eager for experiences to meet new people that become new teammates, mentors, classmates, and lifelong friends.
