I've been playing volleyball since I was 10 but I've been around it all my life. Growing up I remember being in the gym, staring in amazement at how hard the varsity players could hit. When I started playing that was my goal. When I got to high school I wanted to be that girl. The player that others would look up to for character, passion, and work ethic. Only I was the coaches kid, that meant longer gym time, harder work to prove myself and to prove that I belonged. As I played more, I fell in love with the game. My goals jumped from high school varsity to playing in college.
My determination doesn't stop when I step off the court though. Along with being a coach's kid, I'm also the daughter of two teachers. This means that I also need to prove myself in the classroom. So far I am a 4.0 student and am determined to keep it that way. I'm laid back about most things and keep myself out of drama and trouble. Personally I love to goof off with friends and listen to country music. Sometimes I even sing along when I'm alone or just need to lighten the mood.
Academically, I want to get a degree in nursing. The reason being I want a job where I can help people, meet new people, and have the ability to see a smile on someone's face. I am willing to work hard to make that goal a reality.
