Although I've only been playing for a short time, volleyball has made me the person I am. Through this obsession we call a sport, I've made great choices and learned many things. Volleyball not only helps keep me fit, but has also made me learn time management, self control, and most importantly, commitment. When on a team I must be committed to doing my best on and off the court. While on the court I must hustle to every ball, encourage and bring up my team, and have lots of energy. While off the court I must get homework done, eat the proper nutrition, and get an adequate amount of sleep. During my freshman year of volleyball I encountered a small set back; I had sprained my ankle. While I recovered, I had time to realize what would make me a better student althlete. I learned through this process the value of teamwork and sacrifice. I'm looking for something that fits academically as well as athletically. I believe I have what it takes to be a strong leader and compete for a college team.
