Angelica Nichols '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi I am Angelica "Geli" Nichols, I have been playing volleyball and running track since 4th grade. My collegiate goals are to continue to play the two sports I love and receive a great education that will help me with my future profession. Just like most athletes I dream to play at a D1 college and experience a national championship.  I strive to be the best in all that I do to reach my goals. Its girls like me that is committed and put in a lot of work to become a strong player and that’s will power. I am different because the love I have for track and volleyball.  I play volleyball year round both indoor and outdoor, I am adaptable, coachable, and diverse with many activities not just sports. Also, when I cross a bump in the road and my parents aren’t able to support me, I don’t let that stop me. Instead of giving up I find a way. Whether it is fundraisers for my team or some that I put together myself, I always find a way to play. Not only do I love playing these sports I love the atmosphere and how everything is a team effort. I believe I am a good candidate because of how coachable, reliable, dependable, and committed I am. Not only do I want to play but I want to become a better player and excel above competition level.  I have noticed myself develop into a stronger player as I put more time in at the gym. Starting as a freshman who could barely serve the ball over the net; developing into a junior with 6 aces in a row and 10 kills and plenty of head shots. Not only do I strive to do well on the court but academically I strive to push myself to take more challenging classes.
