Personal Statement
From a young age my parents had always kept me active in several sports and activities, from Girl Scouts, swimming, dance, and volleyball. We were always on the move, out of everything I’ve tried I fell in love with playing volleyball and dancing. Since I was about 6 years old I was torn between dancing and volleyball. I had participated in both until my freshman year in high school when I had to decide which one I was going to give up and which one I was going to fully commit to. I gave up dance and initially I felt like I had given up an arm and a leg but after the 1st year playing club volleyball I knew I made the right choice. As I continue to play and grow in volleyball I’ve taken the constructive feedback from my coaches and peers, applied it to make me a better player and teammate.
Volleyball is my relief from all of the day to day obstacles and challenges. It’s my time to Shine doing what I love to do. I am a fast learner that can adapt to changes quickly. Volleyball is one of my big motivators. It has given me the determination and willingness to learn new things on and off the court. Volleyball has helped me see that hard work does get results when you put in the extra time and always pushing 110%.
My goal is to continue to play volleyball at the colligent level and continue with my competitive edge.
