My dream is to play collegiate volleyball, while pursuing a degree in Pre-Physical Therapy. I'm also very passionate about Spanish and plan on minoring in this subject. I do realize it takes a lot of commitment and determination, but I am not afraid of working hard and putting in the continuous effort to achieve this goal. Volleyball has been a dream of mine for a while, I discovered my passion for the game from playing for a local volleyball program in the sixth grade. Since then, I have developed good court IQ and the ability to adapt to my teams' necessities. I am very agile and have an energetic and positive personality. I strive to learn, do, and improve. I think having goals is very important for improving skills. My personal goal has always been to be the best student-athlete I can be, and I work hard on and off the court to make this happen. I work regularly with my personal coach, Cathy Noth, to improve all aspects of my game. I'm committed to volleyball as my first priority when it comes to extra-curricular activities.
I like staying involved with my community and other programs my school offers, such as Spanish Club, the high school musical, FFA, choir and LEAD. LEAD is a club for high school youth to interact with young children and provide community service. I like helping others and have volunteered for Relay for Life, church summer camp, and youth summer volleyball camp. I started taking dance classes when I was three years old and I compete in track and field. I earned second place in 100 meter hurdles at the conference meet in 2018. I believe dance class helped me develop a great sense of balance and control of my movements. The goal in dance is to perform gracefully and I think players need grace for plays to work well in volleyball. I believe working outside of club is a good way to stay active and still improve my skills as a volleyball player.
I come from a farming family where the idea is to work for what you want. What I want is to play college volleyball. I have been and will continue to work hard to reach my goal.
