Throughout my life as a three-sport athlete, I have developed a reputation not only for being a great team player and athlete but also for my academic accomplishments. In high school, I have maintained a 3.8 GPA and have 7 Varsity letters, showing that I can manage my time well, and put in hard work to succeed. I am currently taking 3 AP classes and dual credit Pre Calc. I am in three clubs including Student Council, Key Club, and Nature Club. Growing up in a small town I use sports as a way to meet new people and express myself. I started playing Basketball when I was 6, Volleyball when I was 13, and Track when I was 15. I am a team leader on the court by giving my teammates encouragement and tips. I help my coach run and coordinate events for our team. I am involved with helping my school run and develop a program where we hand out Sportsmanship awards to players on the opposing team who showed positivity and respect to the other players and officials. This shows I care a lot about good sportsmanship and having a positive attitude on the court.
Competing in these different sports has helped me to develop my character and morale by showing me the importance of teamwork, personal health, and persistence. Playing sports in high school can become very stressful and tiring, but I use my parents to motivate me. My parents always come to my games to support me and continue to push me to be the best athlete I can be. My dad spent countless hours in the gym with me, and my mom has traveled to different places alongside me during club season. My athletic achievements would not be possible without the amazing opportunities they have given me, so I work hard every day to make them proud.
Leading up to high school I played volleyball for fun until I made Varsity my sophomore year. I realized I had a lot of potential to take my game to the next level so I decided to try out for Club Volleyball. In my first year trying out I was asked to play for the best team in an age group older than me. I started to see that volleyball could become a lot more than a hobby for me and ever since then I started pushing myself to improve each time I step on the court. I fell in love with the new challenge and excitement the game brought me. I could see my hard work starting to pay off in games when I realized I was leading my team's stats in almost every category.
As I was getting older and looking at colleges, I wondered if I wanted to continue playing after high school. I realized how sports have been an important part of keeping structure in my life. After a hard day at school, I found myself running to the locker room to get ready for practice because I knew playing volleyball would cheer me up. I want to keep playing in college so I can have the opportunity to develop my volleyball skills, compete at a higher level, and play for a program I love. I plan on attending a school where I can push myself athletically and academically. I hope that you will consider me for joining your team and reach out to me so we can chat.
