Personal Statement
When I was 9 years old I attended my first volleyball camp. It was sponsored by a local high school and was held at the sand courts. On that day I realized how much I wanted to be like the older girls. I wanted to be just like them. To this day I still work hard to become the best player I can be. As I've gotten older, I've noticed that I have become that girl that the little girls want to be like, and that is one of my key motivations.
My longterm goal for volleyball is to play collegiate. It's been a dream of mine since 6th grade and it will always be something I work to achieve.
My best asset on a volleyball team is my capability to be the one to step up and lead. I've always been a leader in all sorts of activities but volleyball brings out my best leadership skills. Another asset would be my desire to win and my mindset to never give up. Lastly, coaches would say an asset is that I am coachable. I listen to advice and make it happen on the court.
To me, volleyball isn't always about the joy it brings to me but the joy I give others when I play. My teammates, my coaches, my parents, and those little girls I once was.
