My name is Alexis (Lexi) Iwanski and I am from Custer, Wisconsin.
I will be graduating in 2019. For the last two years I have been an outside hitter for the Stevens Point Area Senior High varsity team. Once the high school season is completed I continue playing for Wisconsin Ice as an outside hitter, middle blocker and on right side. Although I played softball for many years, I stopped playing in 2016 in order to concentrate on volleyball with a desire to play collegially.
I feel my knowledge of the court, my strong hitting abilities, my coachability and my ability to adapt to numerous positions has helped me to be the strong player I am. I am constantly striving to be a better player and teammate. In December 2017 I had the opportunity to attend the Midwest Volleyball Showcase in Illinois. At this event I was evaluated by Head Coach Carol Price-Torok from Bradley University. My performance report can be viewed at this link: https://app.prephero.com/u/137125/lexiiwanski
At this time I am undecided for my field of study. I am looking for a mid-size college that feels like home. My interests range from wanting to continue in the sports field as a personal training or a physical therapist to my enjoyment for art and photography. I know once I find a campus the feels like home and a team that feels like family the choice for my field of study will follow. While playing high school volleyball I received the Scholar Athlete award for my grades. Currently my GPA is 3.6 and I am scheduled to take the ACT/SAT at school in early spring 2018.
When not in school or training, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and volunteering at church functions or school events. I often volunteer to work at my childhood churches with my mom, dad and brother and sister. Giving back to the community is important as the community has supported me through my volleyball career. A lot of my coaches have also been my teachers. A lot of the businesses and churches have provided support through their donations for my high school teams annual "Diggin The Cause" breast cancer awareness game.
