Personal Statement
I have been very passionate about volleyball and have worked towards playing at a high level in college since a very young age. Being an outside hitter is the position I love and feel am a good fit for. I thrive on all of the hustle and hard work that comes with it, including being a strong all-around player. Specifically, I enjoy the mental toughness that is required. I am a natural leader not only on, but off of the court as well. It is my number one priority to always lift people up wherever I go, and take on all of my responsibilities with a positive attitude. With that being said, I am a very hardworking and mentally tough individual who will never shy away from a task and will always give 100% effort. I believe that it is also necessary for my teammates to do the same and commit to being a team player. Thanks to all of the hours of hard work I have put in, I can see such a difference in my skillset and court knowledge. I cannot wait to compare now to the end of high school to see my progression!
I am just as dedicated to academics as I am to volleyball. I would like to go into the medical field, specifically pediatrics due to my interest in biology and math and have been working toward this goal by maintaining straight A's. A career in the medical field requires critical thinking and the ability to help other people when they need it, which also applies to my position as an outside hitter. I believe this explains my attraction to both the medical field playing as an outside hitter. Finding a college with a rigorous pre-med program and solid volleyball program is my goal.
