Personal Statement

Hello, my name is Emily Collins, I am a senior at Westby Area High School. I am 17 years old and focus on OH/DS as my primary position. I have been on our varsity team for the past two seasons as a middle hitter playing all six rotations. Being the young player that I am today I see myself playing volleyball at the next competitive level.  At this time, I am interested in getting a degree in the health-care field so I am looking for a University that will show my hard work in the classroom and on the court.  I know I can be the student athlete you are looking for. I enjoy school and strive to get the best grades with classes that challenge me. Volleyball is my passion and I am a very coachable player. I work hard to be a versatile player so that I can be successful wherever I am playing on the court.  I have attended many camps and work one-on-one with coaches to continue to develop the skills I’ve learned so I can be the best player I can be. The most important thing in my life is my family.  They are my biggest supporters and fans and it is very important to me to be able to have my family watch me play at the next level.I will be the hardest working student, teammate and athlete on and off the court.  I know that this will benefit myself, my family, my teammates and my coaches.
