Since I started playing water polo 8 years ago I have been in love with the sport. My dream since middle school has been to make a college team right out of high school. I knew I needed to keep working hard in order to make that happen.
When in the pool, I am great at keeping the ball moving during plays as well as keeping my teammates motivated to work together as a cohesive unit. To me, the most important characteristic a player of any team sport can have is to be able to bring the team together and keep their teammates excited to do their best. In and out of the pool, I am always there for my teammates and try to maintain this key characteristic to the best of my ability.
I bring the same dedication and work ethic to academics that I have to water polo, with similar positive results. I like to challenge myself by taking AP and honors classes, I maintain a high GPA and have stayed on honor roll. I care deeply about bettering my community and have served as a volunteer for many years at the YMCA as well as at the Living Desert, my local zoo. I am also part of a club known as Youth and Government run by the YMCA.
I need to attend college in order to meet my career goals and am hopeful a coach recognizes my value as a team asset. To me, the most important aspect of collegiate play is not the position I serve, but the opportunity to be on a team and work together.
