My water polo career began when a friend of my mother suggested I play water polo, given I loved being in the pool as a toddler with my dad. I then joined the Renegades Water Polo Club (Redlands, CA) at 10 years old. At Renegades, I was taught basic skills and built a strong foundation and grit, given I was the only girl on my team, this would help me in the years to come!
A short time later, I joined the Inland Empire Aquatics (IEAQ) Water Polo Club, which allowed me to love water polo even more. I was then invited by a water polo club assistant coach to join the Yucaipa Thunderbirds (T-Birds) Water Polo Club. Given my yearning to learn more and become a better water polo player, I accepted the invitation. At T-Birds, I met Coach William "Ty" Hudson (currently my water polo at Yucaipa High School), who challenged me to look inside myself to see if I had the commitment to go onto the next level. It was at this point I began to understand the commitment and dedication needed to becoming a better water polo player (and obtain my goal of being a collegiate water polo player).
I'm currently a Junior at Yucaipa High School (Yucaipa, CA) and play for the Girls Varsity Water Polo Team, Citrus Belt League (CBL). Under Coach Ty's leadership, we won our 2021-2022 CBL championship game and the California Interscholastic Federation, Southern Division II Championship. Our overall team record was 23-9-0, our CBL record was 8-0-0. I played in 22 games this season making 48 goals, 16 assists, 29 steals, 2 blocked shots and 37 drawn ejections. I was selected CBL All-League Girls Water Polo 1st Team, 2021-2022 All CIF Southern Section Div. 2 Girls Water Polo 1st Team, and earned Scholar Athlete (3.5 GPA or better). I'm so proud of our team's accomplishments given our journey this season!
I'm currently playing for the Chino Hills Aquatics Water Polo (CHAWP) club under the guidance of Coach Greg Salvinski, to stay competitive and better my skill set for the 2022-2023 water polo season.
In addition to varsity water polo, I play violin and am enrolled in my school's Advanced Placement (AP) program, taking college-level classes to gain college credit and better prepare for college. I'm able to accomplish my AP studies and compete in high school and club water polo by being well organized and with the support of my family and friends. I'm also a member of The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS).
My future goals are to successfully complete my AP classes, have a successful 2022-2023 water polo season and given the opportunity to attend a respected college/university, which has an environmental studies program and a competitive Womens Water Polo Program (where I can make a positive contribution to the team).
My family and I would be extremely grateful of being given an opportunity of receiving an academic or athletic scholarship.
