Hello, my name is Diana Cervantes. I currently attend Hubbard High School and will be a senior. I've been wrestling since 7th grade but have been competing since my freshman year. I really wish I could've started sooner and gotten a head start but overall I'm not unhappy with how far I've gotten. I haven't always lived the best life but no matter what wrestling has always been there for me. Whether it be a way for me to cope or to just have fun. I've had the privilege to be part of an amazing team with a very helping and patient coach. Our team has never been huge and is made up of 4 members including myself. But no matter how small my team is we're always there for each other celebrating each others successes and learning from our losses. I am captain of the team which mean not only do I have to focus on my wrestling but I also have to set the example and make sure everyone is doing their part. It can be a bit frustrating sometimes but I love challenges. When it comes to my performance on the mat I always give it my all and when I don't I acknowledge it and hold myself accountable. Whenever I find myself in a touch position I look over to my coach for guidance. He coaches me and my job is to do. Now that my senior year is coming up I know that I have to leave everything on the mat. My coach always says to wrestle our match as if it was our last.
