Personal Statement

What sets me apart from all other athletes is my love for this sport. There is never a time when I am not thinking about wrestling.  My high school goals are to be a 4-time state champion and to keep only 5 losses for my high school record as an undersized 106 pounder as a freshman.  My goals beyond the high school season are to win a Fargo title and place twice at Super 32.  In my academics, I am far ahead in my schooling and looking to get an associates degree with just 1 year in college. As a sophomore, I am only missing 3 required classes to graduate. I started my high school classes in seventh grade to start my plan to wrestle at the D1 level.  I would say my best trait is my determination and I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goals no matter the cost.

  • Took sixth as a Freshman. I was very disappointed, I lost a couple matches I felt like I could have won and was not happy with my performance. Wrestled Nicolar Rivera who later won Fargo and I got thrown to my back. I felt like I made him look a lot tougher than he was and did not wrestle the way I know how to wrestle. later in the tournament I wrestled Jacob Man from Missouri. I had a tough match with him but was just a little overpowered in a couple situations. My movement wasn't as good as it should have been and I feel like that's what made me lose that match. My last loss of the tournament was in the 5th and 6th place match. I lost to Mitchell Mesenbrink who later beat Rivera in the following week. I felt a little overpowered in this match but I felt like I was a way better wrestler. I lost my head and gave up my back getting me pinned. I feel like I've improved a lot since last year and I will do whatever it takes to find these kids again.
