When I was 6 years old, I fell in love with the sport of wrestling. Growing up wrestling was always a huge part of my life, and I would have no idea what I would be doing if I didn’t have it. Wrestling kept me focused as both an athlete and a student. Wrestling has also helped me to meet so many amazing athletes and coaches. Ever since I started wrestling, I knew I would love to be able to wrestle at the college level. I know the dream of wrestling in college will take a lot of hard work and dedication, but I will do anything to get there.
I have a very strong work ethic. Every day before school I wake up at 4 AM and go to the gym to lift weights or work on my cardio. Then, I attend school including my athletic PE class. After school, I have team wrestling practice and then often times after that I go to my old club team’s facility and get a workout in with former coaches and teammates. I’ve been told that I have a very strong and smart approach to my matches and I find a way to keep tough matches close. I also strive to be the hardest worker in the room to motivate and push my teammates to full potential.
In the classroom I work hard to keep a high GPA. As a sophomore I am a two-time recipient of the Southwestern Conference Academic All-Conference Award and the Belleville West High School Outstanding Academic Achievement Award while earning my varsity letter both years wrestling in the 3A class at 126 and then 132 lbs.
I am looking for a college that will push me in the wrestling room as well as the classroom. At the end of the day, I am willing to go anywhere that will fit my level of wrestling abilities and that will push me every day. I am hoping to find a college that will allow me to keep competing at the next level and hopefully meeting some amazing people along the way.
