I began wrestling as a 7th grader when my friend from football asked me to join. I tried it out and fell in love with the sport immediately. I love the comradery, especially the support from my friends and the entire team. I love the challenge of the physical and mental strength required to compete. I started out on JV my Freshman year and moved up to Varsity by the end of the season. I placed 3rd at our 2024 Sectionals in the 113 weight class. I also qualified for Indiana's 2024 Frosh-Soph State after placing 8th in my weight class during qualifiers.
Besides wrestling, I also played for my school's 2023-2024 JV football team and was on Varsity special teams by the end of the season. I received the 2023-2024 Varsity Football Scout Team Most Valuable Player Award, which is voted for by the student-athletes on the Varsity team. I also participate on my school's Track and Field team during the Spring season. I compete in the 400m dash, the 4x400m relay, the high jump, and the long jump.
I place high value on my academics as well. I am an Honors student in both Mathematics and Language Arts and am taking Spanish as a foreign language. I play the Alto Saxophone in the school band and play in Pep band during Varsity Basketball games. I was also elected to join All-County Honors Band in 2024. I currently have a 10.7 GPA (on a 12 point scale) and I scored a 1210 (600 Reading/Writing and 610 Math) on the PSAT in Fall 2023 . My goal is to attend college for Engineering, especially looking into Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
