Personal Statement
I'm a 4-year varsity wrestler. As a Senior, I was NC State Championship Runner-Up (182 lbs) and East Region Champion. As a Junior I was the NC State Championship Runner-Up and the East Region Runner-Up. As a Sophomore, I qualified for the NC State Tournament (182 lbs) in State, 4th in East region and 2nd in Conference. As a Freshman, I took 1st place at the Conference Championship (195 lbs). I was elected Captain of my team in my Junior and Senior years. I work really hard and am a committed team member. I always give over 100%. I'll wrestle up weight classes just to get matches in. My skills have steadily improved over 4 years since being introduced to wrestling as a Freshman. I participated in a club team, Fight the Battle for 4 years. I attended a SEAL Wrestling Camp at US Naval Academy and a Team Wrestling Camp at Penn State. In college, I want to major in business and wrestle. I achieved Eagle Scout at age 15 and I was also inducted into the Order of the Arrow which is the Scouting National Honor Society. I swam for 10 years until I found my real passion in wrestling in high school. I was an Assistant Coach for Summer Swim team for 2 years and I've taught swimming for the past 2 Summers. I also enjoy doing service for my community, creative cooking and camping. History is a passion of mine. I have traveled to over 21 countries with my family. I enjoy learning about and experiencing other cultures. I am hard working and capable but my grades have not always reflected my ability. Currently my GPA is 3.05 and I've had my best grades as a HS Junior and Senior, having made all A's and B's. I plan to continue to excel academically.
