Attending a college preparatory high school has made me step up my game academically and physically, as well as mature emotionally. I began my high school career with some disappointing grades but was persistent and overcame my frustrations which finally led to all A’s in this first semester of my junior year. This sense of accomplishment has driven me to continue to do whatever it takes to be at the top of my academic game – in high school and college. I was voted captain of our wrestling team by my teammates. The increased responsibility has made me even more driven to be an example of punctuality, intensity, inclusion of teammates, good sportsmanship, patience, and of course, success. My defensive style of wrestling, which consists of a lot of “funk” wrestling, often catches my opponents off guard. I also feel my lankiness has given me an advantage as well. I am constantly adding to and improving upon my arsenal of moves. I am willing to have an open mind about my future and am excited to see where my college experience will take me.
