Personal Statement
The most important thing to know about me is that I am a complete package. I am a 6'2" offensive and defensive lineman from Brockway, PA located in District IX. I am an honor student and plan to major in accounting while attending college. I have been part of the academically gifted program at my school since the first grade. Academics are very important to me. I take a very active role in my school in various clubs as well as sports. Moreover, being an active part of my community and giving back to it are important to me. I currently am a Little League coach and also an a coach for the elementary wrestling program. I feel it is very important to share the skills that I have with the youth of our school. The children look up to older athletes, and by volunteering in this manner will help to make the future of our sports programs stronger. In everything I do, I am congnizant that others are watching, especially the youngsters. I have three younger brothers, ranging in age from 14 to 5. I aim to be a role model for them. Family means a lot to me. While others my age might think it a nuisance, I think nothing of having my youngest brother accompany me to lift or putting my headgear on at a match as he crawls upon my lap.
It is my desire to be a part of a football program while attending college. I have an intrinsic drive to be at my personal best and use that drive to motivate my teammates to be at theirs. I was the first freshman to not only make the varsity team at my high school, but started on both sides of the ball. I only began playing football during my seventh grade year, but I set my sights on playing as a freshman and attained my goal through hard work both on and off the field. I was team captain as a junior and plan on winning this role once again when football camp opens later this summer. I hold all lifting records at my high school, but and still push myself as I train. I am goal oriented and take direction well. I am very coachable and am a team player. Win or lose, I will be back at practice the next day pushing myself and those around me to be better. While others may have a innate athletic ability, I know my hard work and perserverance make me an outstanding candidate for your football program.
