My wrestling experience started at the age of 5 and has included training with various clubs and scholastic teams as well as private instruction in Folkstyle, Freestyle, and Greco. My fitness routine consists of weight training, cardiovascular activities, meditation, and more recently collaborating with a nutritionist. In addition to wrestling, I have participated on travel-level baseball and soccer teams and enjoy mountain biking with my family in places like Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Over the years, my coaches and instructors have given a significant amount of time and consideration helping me improve my wrestling, and in turn I routinely volunteer my time at the Wrestling Factory to assist with the youth group practice sessions.
During my freshman year in high school, I achieved my goal of securing a starting spot on the varsity team. Unfortunately, despite having a strong start to the season, I suffered a broken elbow during a match in January and could not finish the rest of the season. In that match, I was able to finish the entire third period with a broken elbow and get a win for the team. Following 3 months of rehab, I qualified and competed in multiple National level Folkstyle tournaments, as well as qualifying and finishing in the top 8 for both Freestyle and Greco at the PAUSA State Championships. I really enjoy Freestyle and Greco wrestling and have a goal of qualifying for FARGO, as well as qualifying for PA Folkstyle State Championships. Balancing academics with wrestling at the high school level was challenging at first, but I have learned to make the necessary adjustments in my schedule when needed to maintain a high GPA. My parents both hold advanced degrees in Pharmacology and have instilled in me the importance of a good education and ensuring I succeed both on the mat and in the classroom. Academic opportunities will play a key role in where I go to college.
