Personal Statement

I take the phrase "lead by example" to heart. Currently I am working to become a South Carolina state champion, and to graduate as valedictorian. With a weighted 5.0 GPA and a class rank in the top 3%, I pride myself on my work in school. Besides success in the classroom and on the mat, I am always working to improve myself in other areas. I am a leader among my peers, including being a member in the Academic Leadership Academy* at Chapin High School. I have been elected to Student Council three times, once as president. I have been head captain of Chapin's wrestling team the past two years.. Through providing an example of a pristine work ethic and supporting my teammates, I continue to strive to lead them to success on and off the mat every day as well.

I can be reached by e-mail or by text message at any time, but am easiest to contact 4-9pm Mon.-Fri. and on weekends (barring wrestling practice and competitions which can be found under my "events").

*The Academic Leadership Academy (ALA) provides students an honors, advanced placement, and dual credit curriculum along with leadership training to prepare them to compete for admission to top-ranked colleges and universities and become world leaders in their fields of study.

  • HIGH SCHOOL NATIONAL RECRUITING SHOWCASE – FLORIDA QUALIFIER
  • 3/12/21 to 3/14/21
  • I placed fifth at the qualifier with a record of 4-2. While I found some success at this tournament, I was exposed to competition that I don't get to see in South Carolina. This next level of discipline and aggressiveness is one I will be working towards endlessly this off-season.
  • Camp/Event
  • SC Lower State
  • 2/27/21 to 2/27/21
  • Top 3 advance to state. I placed 4th after losing by 1 point in two close matches at the end of the tournament. Usually a 4th place finish at semi-state would guarantee an advancement to state, but the state brackets were smaller this year due to COVID. Although I only lost by 1 point, I feel I have many improvements to make that will bring me to the next level.
