My goal is to be a student-athlete in college and receive an excellent education. I want to work with a coach and staff that will make me a better player and person.
I am an excellent athlete and can skillfully play any outfield position but I primarily play CF. As an outfielder, I have great range and read the ball well. I am very willing to sacrifice my body to dive for balls in the gaps and down the line. I have a strong and very accurate arm. I love to test my arm strength by throwing players out at the plate. I the past I have also played third base, short stop and occasionally second base. I pitch or relief pitch at least one game per tournament.
Last summer I batted as the leadoff hitter for the entire season. I continue to work on my hitting mechanics and bat speed several times per week. When on base, I am an excellent base runner and usually score. I routinely challenge myself and the defensive team to get an extra or stolen base. As a base runner, I also try to help the batter get a great pitch to hit by distracting the battery and defense.
To achieve my athletic goals, I have worked very hard on my hitting and speed. I less that a year I have reduced my 60 time by approximately 1 second and now consistently run 6.8 to 7.1. I work out often and in the last year I have increase my arm speed my approximately 5 to 9 mph (now 83 to 87 mph with average at 85 mph).
This Fall, in addition to playing in several baseball tournaments, I worked on my grades and took the ACT. My grades were very good for the first reporting period. My current grades and ACT information has been updated to my site. I also started a weight training program and changed by batting approach with Coach Jim Donovan of Strikes Baseball Academy. .
I will start speed training again in November, 2103 at Acceleration in Naperville, Illinois.
Will be taking the ACT Exam again in February, 2014.
I am played in the following showcase/exposure tournaments this fall:
8/24/13 Central Michigan P3 Exposure Camp
9/13/2013 - University of Notre Dame Tournament
9/21/2013 - Wayne State Workout
9/27/2013 - Kernels Tournament, Cedar Rapids, IA.
