Personal Statement
At a very young age sports gave me an outlet to challenge myself and be part of a team. Whether playing tennis, soccer, basketball, football, or baseball each sport help me develop the skills and leadership needed to succeed at a higher level. Of all the sports, baseball felt like a natural fit. It allowed me to play on a team but also have personal goals to reach for. I couldn’t imagine not playing competitive baseball after my senior year.
Through my athletic career, my objective has always been to make my team better and give them an opportunity to succeed. The way I see it there are personal goals and there are team goals. Personal goals should be set so that upon achieving them, the team gets that much closer to reaching a team goal, which in most cases is a championship. Something that sets me apart from other candidates is my devotion to success and my willingness to put my team before myself.
Academics along with athletics will greatly influence my college decision. Finding the right fit has been a phrase used a lot in association with college searches. To me, this phrase means finding a school that won't be too overwhelming, but will still allow me to push myself.
