Personal Statement
There have been multiple variables that have molded me into who I am today. My father serves in the military, so I have lived all over the nation. This has taught me to adapt to hard changes and learn how to cope in different environments. In 2016, my family adopted my brother and sister from China. Over the past seven years, this has shaped me to be an inclusive team player because I had to adjust to the two new amazing “teammates” in my family. I have been homeschooled the entirety of my life, so I have had to walk into public schools as a stranger in order to be a part of their volleyball programs. This has trained me to not be afraid when I stand alone and advocate for myself. Now I am one of the three captains on my local highschool varsity team.
My love for volleyball was sparked when my middle school basketball coach pushed me to try volleyball because of my height. No one has been able to separate me from this sport since the seventh grade. I promise to bring passion, confidence, bravery, determination, respect, and love to your team.
