Personal Statement
To all recruiters and coaches reading,
My aspirations as a not only a student athlete, but a person, is to complete High School near the top of my class, and then complete my degree and graduate College. Right now, my number one goal is to maintain, and raise my current grade point average throughout the rest of my High School career. My goals as an athlete is to be a three-year starter on my schools Varsity team, and earn a call up before the end of this season. I am one of the hardest working people I know with a great attitude and love for the game of baseball. I feel that I am a natural born leader, and always accept a challenge when it is thrown my way. I see myself as being different from other recruits because of my work ethic, in the classroom and on the field, and how I treat each and every game like it's my last. Growing up, I started baseball from a very young age. I was never the best on my team, there were always guys that were ahead of me. I didn't make a travel ball team until I was 11 while some kids I play with now have been on one since they were seven or eight. I took every opportunity I had to get better and I still do today because you can never truly reach your pinnacle. In sports, there is no peak for how good you can be. You can always get better, and if you're not getting better there are hundreds of people trying to get where you are and will catch up to you eventually. I've always been that person catching up and even when I've had people catching up to me I still treat my work like I'm the one behind. I put that same effort into the classroom, receiving straight A's in my first and third quarters. I'm always trying to prove something and I think if given the opportunity I could very easily prove something to you, whoever you may be, that I am the best candidate for your team. Thank you for reading this extremely long, drawn out statement but I hope to hear back from you soon.
