Personal Statement
I have been a three sport athlete throughout my youth until after my freshmen year when I decided to focus mainly on baseball. I was lucky to be on baseball, basketball, and football teams with consecutive winning seasons and several championship wins. As I got older there were more losses, but those years taught me humility, teamwork, and the importance of dedication to hard work which made me a well-rounded athlete. Over the years I have been fortunate to have had coaches who taught me to display good moral character and respect for all players on and off the field.
At the end of my sophomore year my JV coach told me there are two types of leaders. Those who express themselves vocally and others who lead by example, where actions speak louder than words. He told me I am one who leads by example and he feels that I would be a Captain in the future. I hope to bring these qualities to a college program where I can play baseball and acquire an education to help me succeed in life.
