Personal Statement
My name is Michael Farr and I am a 6'4", 205-pound right-handed pitcher. I am currently a Junior at St. Joseph High School. As a Varsity pitcher, I have the ability to handle extreme pressure on the mound. In my second Varsity start I threw a complete game shut out to one of the highest-ranking teams in our region. I am a team player who likes to lead by example on and off the field. I always give 100% effort no matter what the circumstance, that is my motto and how I play any game. My secondary position is 1st base and this adds to my versatility on the field.
I am looking for colleges that will not only be academically challenging but also allow me to compete in a baseball program at the highest level as well. I realize that having both will require my absolute best and as a high school student I am already striving and preparing myself for the challenge of being the best that I can be.
Along with baseball, I played basketball for my high school team my freshman year, but have since chosen to fully commit myself to baseball. I am committed to year round training including strength and conditioning and working with a pitching coach. I am constantly challenging myself on and off the field and am confident that each year will be better than the last. My goal is to continue to improve so that I can have the opportunity of competing at the highest level collegiately.
Academics are extremely important to me and I strive to maintain a high GPA and take my studies very seriously. I volunteer through our local Social Concerns office to deliver holiday items to the homebound and bereaved residents.
Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to view my profile and I look forward to hearing from you.
