Personal Statement
"Baseball is not just a sport to me. Baseball has been apart of my life and my chosen daily routine since I was a young boy. I knew this the first time I picked up a bat, at the age of three, that this is what I wanted to do. Everyday I do something that will forward my ability and ad value to my game. At times I wonder if it's worth all the sacrifices that I and my parents have made for my love of the game and everyday I wake up saying yes. Baseball is not just a game to me its whom I have become and what I choose to continue.
As a student of the game I have overcome many obstacles including academic challenges. For example, my first semester of my freshman year I was slacking and my grades showed it. I was forced to sit out for an early season scrimmage game. I learned that Fear can be a Major motivating factor. That fear of being ineligible for baseball is what inspired me and still inspires me to work and study hard. I am most proud of my self motivation, my work ethic and my intensity on and off the field. I take instruction well and I am a quick learner. I have been an outfielder for the majority of my career and want to make it to the next level. My goal is to play at the highest level that God will allow me. To gain a degree in my chosen field is a major goal of mine. I love science and look to forward my work toward a degree in Astrophysics.
Moreover, Professional baseball is also my goal and inspires me to continue to prepare me for that next level. I have achieved what I have today with and through my faith in God."
I feel that based on my experiences on and off the field I can be a major asset to your team/program and institution.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
