Personal Statement

I am a 5'8, 115 pound sprinter from Fresno, Texas with a GPA of 4.66 and I will graduate in the year of 2014.  Currently, I am ranked 5th in the 400 meters on the "Elite Youth National Ranking System" and have a 200 time of 25.1.  I started my freshman year on Hightower High Schools varsity track team and continue to hold that spot.  I help lead my team to a district and regional championship running 3rd leg on the 4X100 and 4X200 meter relays and I anchored the 4X400 meter relay.  In the "State Meet" we came out with a bronze medal in the 4X100 and 4X200 meter relays and fifth in the 4X400 meter relay.  I have also been running summer track for the past six years; and I have made it to the "Junior Olympics" all six years.  I won second in the nation in the 400 meters in 2010.  This same year my 4X400 meter relay team which I anchored won first and the 4X100 meter relay which I ran third leg went away with a third place finish.  I am very confident, energetic and have a true passion for track.  I will bring these qualities as well as strong leadership, individual and team championships.
