Personal Statement
My name is Olivia, preferably Liv, and I am a 2024 defender and midfielder, although I am a very flexible player and I can play anywhere that a coach needs me. I play for Oley Valley High School and my freshman year of high school I was double rostered, but then rostered as varsity for the post-season. I also play for High Styx Field Hockey Club and I am in u16 for the club. Ever since fourth grade when I began playing field hockey, I knew it was a life-long dream for me to continue to play field hockey in high school and onto college. As a youth league player, I looked up to high school, college, and even national players and aspired to be like them. I am working towards, and pushing myself, to be that inspirational player for a younger girl or boy new to the sport. I volunteer in the local youth league helping the young girls learn and grow in the sport! Not only do you have to be physically prepared to play on the field, you need to be just as ready mentally. I strongly believe that I am both physically and mentally able to play. I am constantly putting in the work to make myself a better player in every single aspect of the game. I play the sport to make my coaches proud, make my family proud, but most importantly to make myself proud.
I am a freshman in high school. I am in all CP (college prep) classes and I have a GPA of 3.5. In college I hope to major in, criminal justice, and have a minor in business law. In school I push myself to do my best, I get my homework and studying done before I do anything else, and I try to get at least 1 ½-2 hours’ worth of studying and homework time in every day. In school I participate in my high school choir. I am in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). I placed second for the FBLA regional competition for Introduction to Business Communication. I am also hoping to participate in student council in the future as well.
I am excited to continue the recruiting process, and I cannot wait to play field hockey at the next level to continue this journey!
